Greg & Gretchen DeVries
 Greg and Gretchen DeVries reside in Woodville, Alabama with their ten children. They feel that marriage and the family were instituted by God to be a symbol and example of the church and how it should operate. Much time and priority are given to the training and building of relationships with their children.
Ministry began in 1989 with Greg taking a youth pastor position under his father-in-law who was pastoring Faith Christian Fellowship in Huntsville, Alabama. This initial ministry position was held for 5-6 years before Greg transitioned into a nationwide traveling position with Teen Mania. It was during these formative years that God began giving Greg a heart for the poor and the streets.
Discipleship became a primary focus for Greg and Gretchen as they began to instruct young people, raising them to hear God's voice and walk in the Spirit. It was during this season that many interns and youth evangelists would come and join Greg, Gretchen and their team on the street outreaches to Birmingham, New Orleans, Nashville, New York and Huntsville. Greg developed and implemented local youth conferences that eventually brought about the development of Expectation Ministries in 1996.
Greg became senior pastor of FCF in 1998. This occurred only after Greg told the Lord that his personality was not pastoral. The Father's response was that it was not about personality but obedience! Greg held this position until 2002.
Presently, Greg, Gretchen and the staff run Expectation Ministries from it's office in Woodville, Alabama. Along with EM, Greg continues to disciple younger men, along with a weekly men's Bible Study. Gretchen, respectively, is involved in discipling younger women, as well as leading a weekly ladies Bible study. Their heart remains to pour into a younger generation, to help them in their own journey, and to raise them up to fulfill the call and vision of God has for them.
Greg is once again traveling and, when God arranges it, Gretchen and the children enjoy joining him on these adventures. Occasionally, one or two of the children will accompany Greg, building treasured memories. Gretchen watches the home front in Greg's absence and continues to home school the children.
The DeVries and Expectation Ministries have been blessed to have come into relationship with the Rock Family Worship Center in Huntsville, Alabama, which is pastored by Rusty and Leisa Nelson. The Rock has become not only a home but also a covering for Expectation Ministries. There, Greg and Gretchen serve in a part-time position as Campus Pastors of The Rock Family Worship Center - Scottsboro.
